I really couldn’t tell you. I have never had a silkie before. I do know that my chickens have been wearing them for seven years and they look just fine.
do you ever make them for other people? I have tried making several for my birds but they are always just a little bit off in some way or another. I would be wonderful if i found someone i could just give their measurments to and have them made.
It should not matter, they are still feathers, even if they look like fur. It should not break any, the material is not spandex and does not fit like a glove.
This is really cool. Do the diapers also help prevent Philip and the female from making baby chicks? Do you keep them in your house all the time, or just in the winter?
I grew up with chickens, and still really like them a lot. Jason
Well, yes they will Jason but you don’t really keep chickens in their diapers constantly. Just when you want them in the house. when they are out side or in their cage they can do their chicken thing. It’s just that I would be careful if you have a chicken that lays eggs everyday. My hen stopped laying. She and her sisters weren’t good layers. Yes they live in my house.
I love your pattern and your costumes. Keep the wonderful videos coming. I have a rat agility video here and my rats wear costumes and clothing…but no diapers. LOL

I’ve been thinking about a comfortable way to put a leash around one leg of my hens so I can stake my chickens out where I want them, and I won’t have to mow my lawn. If I let them run free they tear everything up. Tell PETA I treat my chickens much nicer than they treat me, and if PETA would like to make a stink about it, I’ll eat the chickens instead of the eggs. I can be a real ass when I want too be. But, I do like those meat dresses they wear. Viva la PETA and El Pollo.
I’ve got a chicken that doesn’t like anyone else (she gets freaked out by pecking order behavior), and am planning to probably move her in the house. Should I have a cage so she gets more “out of diaper” time, or should I just plan to take it off if she wants to go outside? She’s a sweet little Ameraucana. I ordered a chicken diaper from chicken diaper dot com so I could have a pattern, but you’re making it sound so easy…

My Moluccan Cockatoo has been wearing them for years. We get them for her at avian fashions.
